Institutional Development — University of Jaffna & Other HEIs

• Curriculum planning and development: Actively contributing as a member of the curriculum revision committee of the Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Science conducted by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna.
• Secretary of the Library Committee of the Faculty of Engineering since 2020: Actively involved as a SAL for the IESL accreditation & quality assurance subject review process of the Faculty of Engineering.
• Member of the Digitization and Conservation of the Sri Lankan Tamilology Collection funded by Kandiah Kathekesu Trust Fund. Action in charge: Digitizing Tamilology collection. Developed a content management system to maintain the rare Tamilology collection.
  • The establishment of the Digitization Laboratory and the digitization of the Sri Lankan Tamilology Collection have significantly enhanced the library’s capacity to preserve and provide access to rare and valuable resources. Developing a dedicated content management system has improved the organization, retrieval, and long-term preservation of digital resources. These initiatives have strengthened the library’s digital infrastructure, supporting research accessibility and sustainable knowledge preservation.

  • The University Research Committee and the University Publication Committee, at their joint meeting, appointed a three-member committee to develop the above guidelines.
• Contributed to developing the Electronic Staff Appraisal form and amendment to the policy on Academic Accountability
• Electronic staff appraisal would help to evaluate and recognize the performance of staff members in relation to their duties and responsibilities.
